Metrolinx is recruiting across the GTA for roles that include safety, enforcement, repairs and performance analysis. Several positions offer competitive pay, with top salaries listed up to $124,253 a year or $55.56 an hour.
Openings cover frontline and specialist roles at sites including Toronto, Mississauga and Oshawa. Below are the seven advertised roles, their pay ranges, key requirements and application deadlines where provided.
Open roles and what they pay
Senior Safety Officer
Salary: $91,421 to $124,253 a year. Location: Toronto. Candidates need a degree in safety or a related field and experience developing, coordinating and monitoring safety programs. Knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, transit or rail operations, and property or facility operations is required. Customer service skills, a valid Ontario class G driver’s licence and the ability to obtain Canadian Rail Operating Rules qualifications are mandatory. Application deadline: January 21, 2026, 11:59 p.m. ET.
Customer Protection Officer / Special Constable
Salary: $24.80 an hour during training, then $44.08 an hour after training. Location: various GTA sites. Applicants should have college-level training in law enforcement, social work or a related area, or equivalent experience, plus at least six months of relevant community or law-enforcement work. Candidates must be able to interpret federal, provincial and local statutes, and work 24-hour rotating shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays. Required certifications include Level C First Aid CPR and Mental Health First Aid (Mental Health Commission of Canada). A valid Ontario class G driver’s licence with a good driving record is required. Application deadline: July 31, 2026, 11:59 p.m. ET.
Rail Performance Management Analyst
Salary: $43.87 to $55.56 an hour. Location: Toronto. The role requires at least three years of post-secondary education, preferably in management, transportation or rail traffic control, and familiarity with front-line transit operations, safety programs and transportation planning. Strong organisational, written and verbal communication skills are expected, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and quantitative data analysis. Track Safety Consultant
Salary: $91,421 to $124,253 a year. Location: Toronto. Applicants need a related degree and experience developing, coordinating and monitoring track safety programs. Candidates must achieve and maintain Personal Track Safety and Canadian Rail Operating Rules accreditation. Knowledge of transportation legislation and strong communication skills are required. Application deadline: January 19, 2026, 11:59 p.m. ET.
Auto Body and Collision Damage Repairer
Salary: $41.23 to $47.03 an hour. Location: Mississauga. Candidates must hold an Ontario Secondary School Diploma and a 310B Certification of Qualification with Red Seal endorsement for Auto Body and Collision Damage Repair. Experience with heavy truck or bus maintenance, the ability to read OEM specifications, and a valid Ontario class G driver’s licence with the ability to obtain class C and Z endorsements are required. A forklift certificate will be required.
Senior Accident Investigator
Salary: $91,421 to $124,253 a year. Location: Toronto. Applicants should have a degree in safety, engineering, human factors or a related discipline, plus training or experience in safety planning, operational risk assessment, human factors, regulatory compliance or accident investigation in construction or transportation. A valid Ontario class G driver’s licence is required. Application deadline: January 20, 2026, 11:59 p.m. ET.
Auto Body Collision Technician
Salary: $41.23 to $47.03 an hour. Location: Oshawa. Candidates must have completed high school and have at least one year of journeyman bodyman experience in transit or heavy-duty repair. Required qualifications include an Interprovincial/Provincial Motor Vehicle Body Repair licence, familiarity with transit bus maintenance and inspection standards, and the ability to obtain a forklift certificate. A valid Ontario class G driver’s licence and the ability to obtain class C and Z endorsements are also required.
