Dollarama is offering refunds for Disney Baby Water Teethers following a nationwide recall after Health Canada found fungal contamination in the liquid filling. The company is asking customers to stop using the affected teethers immediately and return them to a Dollarama location for a full refund.
The recall covers 15,289 units sold between November 2023 and January 2026. Affected items were manufactured in China and carry model number 3121188. They were sold in two variants, a teal Mickey Mouse and a pink Minnie Mouse, both shaped as hollow octagons with textured segments.

What was recalled

The recalled product is marketed as Disney Baby Water Teethers. The packaging and the teethers match the model number 3121188. Dollarama sold the items at various store locations across Canada. If you still have the product at home, check the model number and the two character variants to confirm whether your teether is part of the recall.

Why Health Canada pulled the product

Health Canada’s testing found that the liquid filling inside the teethers is contaminated with the fungus Rhinocladiella similis. Under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act, teether fillings must not contain any living microorganisms. The department says the fungus is usually harmless, but it could potentially cause an infection if the teether is punctured and the liquid filling is ingested.

Under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act, teether fillings must not contain any living microorganisms. Health Canada’s sampling and evaluation program has determined that the liquid filling is contaminated with the fungus Rhinocladiella similis.

Health risks and reporting incidents

As of Jan. 14, 2026, Dollarama has not received any reports of incidents or injuries in Canada related to the recall. Health Canada says the fungus identified is typically not harmful, but there is a potential risk if the teether is punctured and the filling is ingested. If you believe a child has been exposed and is showing symptoms, contact a health professional.
Health Canada asks consumers to report any health or safety incidents linked to the affected product by submitting a Consumer Product Incident Report Form. The recall is also listed on the OECD Global Portal for Product Recalls and Safety Alerts.

What to check at home

Inspect teethers you still have for the model number and the two character styles. If you cannot confirm the model but suspect the teether may be affected, treat it as recalled and remove it from use. Do not attempt to repair, puncture or open the teether. Returning the item to the store is the safest option.
If you are unsure whether a product in your home is affected, bring the item to a Dollarama store and ask staff to verify the model number. Store personnel can confirm the recall status and process the refund.
This recall affects a specific model and batch of Disney Baby Water Teethers. Other baby products or different Disney Baby models are not part of this notice unless specifically listed by Health Canada.
Check Health Canada’s recall page or Dollarama’s customer service for updates, and report any incidents through the Consumer Product Incident Report Form to help authorities track potential problems.
