Three downtown Las Vegas properties are offering Canadians on-the-ground value by accepting Canadian dollars at par through Aug. 31. The promotion covers hotel rooms, beverages and select slot play, subject to limits and ID verification.
The offer applies at Circa Resort & Casino, the D Las Vegas and Golden Gate Hotel & Casino. Guests need only present a valid Canadian passport or government-issued photo ID to receive the at-par pricing.

What the deal covers

The face-value pricing means prices listed in US dollars are treated as equal to Canadian dollars for participating items. That includes room rates, bar and beverage pricing, and play on participating slot machines up to $500 CAD per guest, according to the properties.
Details can vary by property and availability. Promotional room rates and certain offers may have limited inventory or blackout dates, so check each casino’s booking terms before you travel.

Who qualifies and what to bring

The promotion is limited to Canadian citizens. To get the at-par pricing, present a valid Canadian passport or a Canadian government-issued photo ID at check-in or at points of sale. The casinos will confirm eligibility when you book or at the register.
  • Bring a valid Canadian passport or provincial photo ID
  • Confirm participating slot machines with staff, since only selected machines are eligible
  • Ask about room availability and any blackout dates before booking

Why the casinos introduced the offer

The initiative comes from Derek Stevens, the CEO of the three properties. Stevens has personal ties to Canada; his father studied at the University of Toronto, and Stevens has repeatedly cited a connection to Canadian visitors.

I feel a deep connection to Canada, and that has stayed with me.

Derek Stevens
Stevens also operates BarCanada, a hockey-themed bar in downtown Las Vegas, where the at-par offer is available as well.

How much it could be worth to travellers

With exchange rates fluctuating, the at-par pricing can deliver immediate savings at the point of sale. At publication, one US dollar exchanged for about 1.37 Canadian dollars, meaning a US$100 charge would effectively cost C$100 for participating items.
Savings depend on how much you spend on rooms, drinks and slots while at the participating properties. The $500 cap on eligible slot play limits maximum direct gambling savings per guest.

Practical tips for using the offer

  • Book directly with the property and confirm the at-par rate in writing, either on your reservation confirmation or at check-in
  • Carry government-issued photo ID to confirm Canadian citizenship at every point of sale
  • Ask staff which slot machines are participating to avoid surprises at the machine
  • Factor in taxes and resort fees, which may still be charged in US dollars and could affect overall savings

Where to get more information

Contact Circa Resort & Casino, the D Las Vegas or Golden Gate Hotel & Casino directly for the full terms and any limitations. If you plan to visit BarCanada, confirm whether the at-par pricing applies to specific menu items or events.
Promotions like this are time-limited and subject to change, so confirm details before you book or travel.
If you are planning a summer trip to Las Vegas, the at-par option could simplify budgeting and reduce the immediate impact of a weaker Canadian dollar, provided the offers match your travel dates and spending plans.
