The Toronto Transit Commission is recruiting for a range of positions across skilled trades, technical training, emergency planning and finance. Hourly rates for trades range up to $46.27, plus a $1.75 per hour skilled trades premium, while senior management roles top out above $168,000 a year.
Several roles do not require a university degree and are open to applicants with apprenticeship credentials or college diplomas. Application deadlines fall in late January 2026, and all postings are on the TTC careers site.

What to know before you apply

Most trades postings require a Certificate of Qualification or completion of an apprenticeship program, practical on-the-job experience, and a valid Ontario Class G driver's licence. Some positions also require respirator or breathing apparatus certification and the ability to perform physically demanding work. Bricklayer

Salary: $46.27 an hour, plus a $1.75 per hour skilled trades premium. Requirements include a valid Brick and Stone Mason Certificate of Qualification, ability to read sketches and blueprints, and competence with standard bricklaying tools and equipment. Candidates must be able to perform physically demanding tasks and hold a valid Ontario Class G driver's licence. Closing date: January 30, 2026.

Metal Fabricator Fitter

Salary: $35.66 to $46.27 an hour, plus a $1.75 per hour skilled trades premium. The role requires completion of the Metal Fabricator (Fitter) apprenticeship training program and a Metal Fabricator Certificate of Qualification (437A). Applicants must be able to wear a respirator and hold a valid Ontario Class G driver's licence. Closing date: January 25, 2026.

Structure Repairperson

Salary: $33.63 to $43.69 an hour. This posting seeks candidates with about 24 months of structural repair experience, including abrasive blast cleaning, structural steel repairs and concrete materials work. Respiratory protection certification and clear radio and telephone communication skills are required, along with a valid Ontario Class G driver's licence. Closing date: January 25, 2026.

Technical and professional roles

Senior Emergency Planner

Salary: $111,129.20 to $138,975.20 a year. The TTC asks for a college diploma or university degree in emergency management or a related field and experience developing emergency management programs, policies and exercises. Candidates should have knowledge of industry standards such as CSA Z1600, relevant legislation and enterprise risk management. Proficiency with presentation software, databases and digital emergency management tools is required. Closing date: January 29, 2026.

Technical Instructor

Salary: $100,110.40 to $125,153.60 a year. This role focuses on developing, delivering and evaluating technical training for the rail vehicle and surface fleets and infrastructure systems. Applicants need a college diploma or university degree in a related discipline, strong communication and facilitation skills, and specialised technical knowledge relevant to the TTC fleet. Closing date: January 26, 2026.

Senior Manager, Estimating

Salary: $134,789.20 to $168,550.20 a year. The position requires a post-secondary diploma or degree in a technical discipline, estimating experience on large heavy-construction projects and a Professional Quantity Surveyor designation or equivalent. Responsibilities include preparing conceptual and detailed estimates, supervising multi-disciplinary estimating work and familiarity with capital budgeting, cost control and contract administration. Proficiency in computer-based estimating tools and project software is expected. Closing date: January 26, 2026.

Financial Analyst — Business Partner Support

Salary: $96,460 to $120,611.40 a year. Applicants need a post-secondary degree in business administration, accounting, finance, economics or a related discipline, plus experience preparing financial plans, budget reporting and analysis for managerial audiences. The role involves cost-control practices, contract review and performance oversight. Advanced Excel skills, including Macros and Pivot Tables, are required. Closing date: January 30, 2026.
